Kazan has both Orthodox and Muslim burial grounds, and they follow different rules — about what may stand on a grave, what may be planted, and what is appropriate to leave there. We work to the rules of the cemetery in question and to the family’s wishes, and where we are unsure we ask rather than assume.
For Muslim plots in particular, a monument is often not what is wanted at all: the work is levelling, a modest marker, keeping the plot clean and the boundary clear. We would rather say that than sell a granite complex to a family who did not want one.
How work outside Moscow is arranged
Our own crews work in Moscow and the Moscow region. In Kazan the work is carried out by a vetted local master, and the arrangement is deliberately built so that this does not make it riskier for you: you deal with us, you pay us, and the master is paid only after you have accepted the photo report. A first order with a new master is always a control order.
You do not need to be present at any stage, and neither does anyone else in your family. Send photographs of the plot if you have them and the details of the burial; we price the job, name a fixed figure before starting, and send the before/after report when it is done.
If you do not know where the grave is, say so. In many Russian cities burials are in an electronic register that we can search by full name — that search is free, and when the register does not cover the grave we tell you how the cemetery administration issues the information to relatives. Searching a cemetery on foot for a plot known only approximately is separate work, from ₽2,500.
