Order a Granite Monument for a Grave in Moscow — from Abroad

Yes — that is most of our monument orders. You choose the shape and text by messenger, we send a mock-up for approval before the stone is cut, and every stage after that comes to you as photographs: the blank, the engraving, the foundation, the finished installation. The one document needed from your side is a notarised power of attorney for the cemetery permit, which can be arranged at a Russian consulate in your country, and the burial certificate for the grave.

The quote is itemised line by line: stone, engraving, delivery, foundation, mounting and the permit paperwork. It is fixed before work starts, and there are no surcharges on site. The only things that change the price are your own choices — a bigger stele, coloured granite, a portrait, paving around the plot — and each is a visible line in the quote, agreed in advance.

The installation season at Moscow cemeteries runs roughly from mid-April to mid-November — winter mounting is not permitted by the cemetery authorities. A monument is normally installed 6–12 months after the burial, once the ground has settled. A common pattern for families abroad: agree the design and fix the price in winter, and the stone goes up at the start of the season.

Installing or replacing a monument at a Moscow cemetery requires written permission from the cemetery administration, and the application must come from the person registered as responsible for the grave — or their representative under a notarised power of attorney. There is no online application for Moscow cemeteries, so a representative on the ground is the practical route: we prepare the papers and submit them ourselves. The permit itself is a free state service; you pay only for our work.

2 years on the mounting work — the foundation and the stability of the stone — and 30 years on granite we supply. If a stone we installed leans because of our foundation within the guarantee period, we re-set it at no charge. For a stone you bought elsewhere, the guarantee covers our work; the material stays the seller's responsibility, and we photograph its condition on acceptance.

Yes — replacement is handled with a single permit application covering both the dismantling of the old monument and the installation of the new one. The old stone and concrete are removed from the cemetery and disposed of (from ₽5,000), or delivered to relatives if it matters to the family. Old marble and concrete monuments from the 1960s–80s are the most frequent replacement we do.

We agree the payment route when confirming the order — including payment through relatives in Russia. The balance is due after you receive the photo report of the finished installation.
